The weekend that was... Le Petit Brevet 2024

Saturday morning dawned bright and rather warm. As riders gathered, our usual low key briefing was held from the comforts of a picnic bench before riders got underway at 6am.

Entries were strong this year with 79 official intentions to ride received. As a result of such a large crowd, the decision was made and announced at the briefing that the 200km riders would exit via the normal gate while the 300km riders would exit via the bridge onto Riverlaw Tce. There was no need for a third exit from the park as no one decided to take on the 420km course.

The weather continued to play ball for most of the day, windy on the tops, a very present dose of warmth with some late rain on Saturday evening. A strong southerly tail wind was appreciated by many of the 200km riders later on Saturday.

Views for all

So far (at the time of writing) 42 people have submitted results with some very good stories in the mix. Over the next week we will bring together some of the best snippets and share them here.

In the meantime, enjoy putting your feet up, or being back at whatever a Monday normally holds for you.

What will 2025 have in store for us all?

  • Potentially a change in direction of aspects of the 200km

  • People are asking for Captain Thomas to come back...

  • Others are not asking for Captain Thomas at all.

  • Probably some more rain

Thanks for being here
